Greetings Tiger Family,

I am elated to join the Tiger Family and serve as the new proud principal! With almost 20 years serving in education, I wholeheartedly believe each and every student desire to learn. Establishing positive relationships, creating an inviting school culture, analyzing student data to guide instruction, and engaging students in a variety of instructional strategies is critical to each student’s academic and behavioral success.

I am a native of Wilmington, N.C. and attended the illustrious NC Agricultural & Technical State University where I received a bachelor’s in Business Education, master’s in Reading Education and another in School Administration. I have two little people Vaughn (7 years old) and James (6 years old) who are the joys of my world. As I went through elementary, middle and high school as a young person, my mascot has always been in the big cat family, and I am elated to join another amazing big cat family of Tigers! I am full of energy and believe that being genuinely kind is the foundation of any great relationship. I look forward to establishing great relationships with each of you!

As I begin this journey, I reflect on my experience as a classroom teacher, coordinator of character development and service-learning, and assistant principal and what I have come to realize is that the quote by Margaret Meade stands true. “Never doubt a small group of thoughtful, committed individuals can change the world. In fact, it is the only thing that ever has.” In education, it takes a committed team to continue the great works and achieve new goals. The team is inclusive of students, parents, teachers, school staff, and community partners. Together we will cultivate the optimal learning experience for our young people. Over the coming months, please join me for “Tea with Ms. E.” so we can learn and grow together. I look forward to sharing more information about who I am, gaining more information about this quaint town and learning how we can work alongside one another to make Sedalia Elementary the best elementary school in Guilford County Schools.

We are better together,

Yvonne Eason
